I hope you dance

This song randomly played from my computer on Saturday night, after I wrote that hugely depressing post.

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed

Chorus: I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,
I hope you dance, I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances, but they're worth taking
Loving might be a mistake but it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,
I hope you dance (time is a wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance (rolling us along)
I hope you dance (tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
I hope you dance (where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

dance (hold for 2 4 counts), I hope you dance,
I hope you dance (time is wheel in constant motion always)
I hope you dance (rolling us along)
I hope you dance (tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
I hope you dance (where those years have gone)
(tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder)
(where those years have gone)

I don't think this is the actual video. Its got pretty pictures and the song.

I get used to hearing this song on the local country radio stations all the time. Stopping to read the lyrics reminds me of how inspirational this song is and why several years after being released it is still so popular.

That is such the slide show song, like at a wedding. In fact, I think I heard it during a slide show at the last wedding I was at!

Corky - I dunno. Ronan can be pretty girly.

Y - yeah, I think that was why it stuck out so well when it played.

Michael - Its a beautiful song.

Kenneth - You're absolutely right. Its perfect for slideshows.

Emme - I still have it.

Keshi - you're welcome!

I've never heard that before: it's beautiful! Fantastic words. I hope you dance and me too. I think as I get older I am getting more and more likely to dance - less caring what others think.
